Professional astronomer Galaxy_of_Emptiness took these incredible shots, not during last year’s New Year’s, but instead during Australia Day, the official national day of Australia. It is celebrated every year on January 26 and it’s a day to celebrate and reflect on what’s great about living in the land down under.

These photos were taken in Perth, the capital and largest city of Western Australia. More specifically, they were shot across the Swan River on the South Perth foreshore next to the Mends Street Jetty.
