An extended play (or EP) is a musical recording that contains more music than a single, but is too short to qualify as a full studio album or LP.
This is the second EP by Byzant At Sunset, a double EP actually, but this is really-really an ultra-mega-super extended play while the band delivered 9 original tracks (more then 44 minutes) and 10 plus 1 (hidden bonus) remixes – which are pounding more then 46 minutes.
Totally 95 minutes of music, it’s definitively hell of an extended play!!

“There are two tracks. “Appleogy” is a live recording, actually a jam of three of us, Şerban play the bass, Grigore the gittern and I’m playing with the pipe emulator on my keyboard. “Sárga kukac” is like a mystic trip into etno rock, it’s like a shaman invocation, the logical following of “Appleogy”, this is the reason we decided to tie this two tracks. On the second one Grigore moved to his double bass, but also recorded a gittern track and provided a drum sampler, Şerban play his guitar and I write a lyric in Hungarian language, I sing it and I played piano, a noisy lathe sampler and the flute emulator. I think we’re getting somewhere.

This one takes a noisier turn. Written and recorded on 1 and 2 of February 2011, it’s a trip into the heavier side of the electric post-industrial zone, but keep the things wide and minimal.

It’s all about exorcising… painting, singing, writing… making love. Actually I’m having trouble sleeping for years, maybe decades, I can’t even remember. And while I remember everything else. This track is a trip to my insomnia, my way to… “Runs the Voodoo Down” – if you know what I’m talking about. Or simply, the way out is through. This is a chillout kind of “stuff” with a twist of Jazz and some noise infusion and some unexpected turns, it’s just a dream or a… beautiful nightmare.
