Teodosio Sectio Aurea, the painter of shadows, will be presenting his first personal exhibition in Crete!
The Athenian self-taught artist, Teodosio Sectio Aurea, creates unique pieces of art, using metal to create shadows. His complicated, almost chaotic metal artwork, seem to be beautiful but confusing to anyone looking at them for the first time. But when these pieces are put near a source of light, and with the correct orientation, they create majestic shadow creations…
Teodosio is talking to us for the first time, about his first personal exhibition, leading us through his magical world of shadows.
“Hello… my name is Teodosio Sectio Aurea and i will offering the services of a medium between reality and fantasy… i will be more than happy to violate your perception system. As peculiar as it may sound, i’m planning to lose touch with sense and reality, and communicate to you the language of mystery, and you are probably wondering how exactly i will be doing this… right? I am using shadows as my paint. My canvas.
Eveything i create, gives birth to an unexpected shadow, which always has a philosophical connection to it’s source, the metal. I tend to create a small universe, either as an observer of the creation itself, or as the creator… I am given a chance to escape the world we live in, and travel to unreal lands. Through my creations you can understand my feelings, my thoughts, my visions and my ideas. There are hidden messages everywhere around us… beauty and positive energy flow through us all the time. And my art is my way to communicate to you, what i have inside me. A more attractive side of reality, via a game of shadows…”
Teodosio also creates wire pieces, sculptures, modern furniture and lights, paintings using mixed techniques. You can see his work on his website (http://teodosio.gr). Also, the famous German channel Deutsche Welle, held an interview with the artist, introducing his work http://www.dw.de/teodosio-sectio-aurea/av-17745607
