Photographed by Luis Monteiro, this story is all about strong colours, shape, and natural beauty; deep blue sky and turquoise waters contrasted harmoniously with bold reds and oranges, and bronzed skin.
In the hero image, Raica with no apparent footing is ‘lifted’ by the wind breathing flight into her dress, whilst simultaneously being earthed by the wooden jetty. The overall artistic impression is of a timeless ethereal goddess, evocative of sculptures of antiquity.
The retouch process started with twisting, warping and sculpting the entire scene, whereby Raica took on almost one third her height. This was followed by enhancing and tweaking the inherent colours, and lastly by developing the overall mood and grade.
